Why you'll love it

Cato Lounge Chair brings a comfortable place to pause into the room. Its shape feels inviting without taking over the space, while the choice of fabric lets you make it your own.

About this piece

The Cato Lounge Chair is a softly sculptural chair with generous curves and a grounded, quietly confident silhouette. Designed to feel both elegant and inviting, it brings a relaxed sense of shape to a living room, bedroom or reading corner without feeling heavy in the space.

Its curved form gives the chair a calm, cocooning feel, while the clean proportions and low profile keep it refined and contemporary. Available in fabric or leather, and with either wooden or fully upholstered legs, Cato can take on a softer, more tonal look or a more defined, design-led finish depending on your chosen upholstery and specification.

Designed in Sweden and made in Europe, it is a beautifully considered lounge chair for homes that favour comfort, shape and timeless materiality.

Materials & care

Materials & craftsmanship

The Cato Lounge Chair is designed in Sweden and made in Europe by Furninova, combining considered Scandinavian design with high-quality European craftsmanship. Its frame is made using FSC®-certified solid European wood in all bearing parts, with a seat frame constructed using nosag springs for durable support.

The seat is made with cold foam covered in fibre padding, while the back cushion has a cold foam inner core, also covered with fibre padding. This gives Cato a comfortable, supportive feel while helping the chair maintain its softly structured shape over time. Available in fabric or leather, with wood or upholstered leg options, it is a versatile piece that can be finished to suit both relaxed and more refined interiors.

Care instructions

Vacuum fabric upholstery regularly using a soft upholstery attachment to remove dust and surface debris. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth and avoid rubbing, as this can push marks further into the fabric. For leather upholstery, use suitable leather care products and follow specialist care guidance.

Keep the chair away from direct sunlight and heat sources where possible to help protect the upholstery from fading, drying or discolouration. The Cato Lounge Chair has a fixed cover, so covers should not be removed for washing.

Sustainability

The Cato Lounge Chair is made using FSC®-certified solid European wood in all bearing parts, supporting more responsible forestry and traceable timber sourcing.

The design story

Generous curves. A grounded presence.

Cato brings a sculptural shape to the room, with generous curves and a low, grounded silhouette. Its rounded form feels inviting, while the clean outline gives it definition. Place it beside a sofa to soften the arrangement, or pair it with a side table and a reading lamp to create a corner of your own.

A softer shape for your space

Cold foam in the seat and back provides a firm sit, with fibre padding adding softness at the surface.

Swedish design, European craft

Designed in Sweden and made in Europe, Cato combines an FSC®-certified solid European wood frame in its load-bearing parts with no-sag seat springs.

The comfort profile

Soft curves. A supportive sit.

Cato’s rounded shape is paired with a firm, supportive sit. Cold foam in both the seat and back is wrapped in fibre padding, adding softness at the surface without a sink-in feel. No-sag springs support the seat beneath, while the low profile creates an inviting place to pause with a book or settle into conversation.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Considered beneath the curves

Designed in Sweden and made in Europe, Cato’s rounded form is built around a frame with FSC®-certified solid European wood in all load-bearing parts. No-sag springs support the seat, while cold foam and fibre padding shape the seat and back. Fixed upholstery gives the chair its neat, defined finish.

A solid wood foundation

FSC®-certified solid European wood forms all load-bearing parts of Cato’s frame, with no-sag springs supporting the seat.

Foam with a softer surface

The seat and back both use cold foam covered with fibre padding, combining a firm core with a softly padded surface.

Fixed upholstery follows Cato’s rounded shape for a clean, defined finish.

Fabric & Finish

Make Cato your own

Cato’s curved silhouette takes on a different character with every upholstery choice. Soft, textured fabrics emphasise its inviting shape, while smoother finishes create a cleaner, more defined look. Order samples to see the colour and texture in your own room before choosing.
