Why you'll love it

Melrose balances the richness of Calacatta Viola marble with a cleverly considered, open design. The split base allows light to pass through, giving the table a lighter appearance while retaining the substantial feel and beauty of natural stone.

Its compact proportions make it easy to position beside a sofa or armchair, while the dramatic natural veining gives even the simplest scheme a beautifully considered finishing touch.

About this piece

Rich in natural pattern yet beautifully simple in form, our Melrose Calacatta Viola Marble Side Table brings the character of statement marble to a refined, architectural silhouette.

Crafted from natural Calacatta Viola marble, the creamy stone is brought to life by distinctive burgundy and violet veining, making every table completely unique. The base is formed from two supports that deliberately don't meet, allowing light and space to pass through the centre and giving the substantial marble a lighter, more contemporary feel.

Perfectly proportioned beside a sofa or occasional chair, Melrose provides an elegant surface for a drink, book or table lamp while adding depth, pattern and natural stone to your scheme.

Sculptural without being overpowering, it's a modern marble side table with the timeless quality to be lived with for years.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Marble is a natural, porous stone and should be treated with care. Wipe clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.

Always use coasters for drinks and wipe spills promptly, particularly wine, coffee, citrus, oils and other acidic or strongly coloured liquids. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and acidic products such as vinegar, which can etch or mark natural marble.

Do not drag objects across the surface and take care when moving the table due to the weight of the stone. Natural variations in colour, veining and markings are inherent characteristics of genuine Calacatta Viola marble and are not considered faults.

THE FINER DETAILS

A Few Things Worth Knowing

Thoughtful answers to help you choose with confidence.

What is the Melrose Side Table made from?

Melrose is crafted from natural Calacatta Viola marble, a distinctive stone known for its creamy background and dramatic burgundy, plum and violet-toned veining.

Will every Melrose Marble Side Table look the same?

No. Calacatta Viola is a natural marble, so every table will feature its own individual distribution of colour, pattern and veining. Some pieces may have more prominent burgundy markings while others will feature larger areas of creamy stone.

What is different about the Melrose table base?

Rather than forming one solid marble block, the two supports are deliberately separated. This allows light and space to pass through the base, reducing the visual weight of the marble and giving Melrose its distinctive architectural appearance.

Where can I use the Melrose Marble Side Table?

Its proportions make it ideal beside a sofa or occasional chair in a living room, although it also works beautifully as an accent table in a bedroom or other seating area.

Is Melrose made from real marble?

Yes. Melrose is made using genuine natural Calacatta Viola marble rather than a marble-effect material. Variations in the stone are therefore expected and make each table unique.

Can I pair the Melrose Side Table with the Marlborough Coffee Table?

Yes. The Melrose Side Table complements our Marlborough Calacatta Viola Marble Coffee Table beautifully. Repeating the same natural stone across two different furniture shapes creates a coordinated scheme without feeling overly matched.

Is a marble side table practical for everyday use?

Yes, although natural marble requires appropriate care. Use coasters for drinks, wipe spills promptly and avoid acidic liquids and abrasive cleaning products to help protect the surface.

How should I style a Calacatta Viola side table?

The marble already provides plenty of colour and pattern, so Melrose needs very little additional styling. A small table lamp, favourite book or simple decorative object is often enough while leaving plenty of the natural stone visible.

How do I clean a Calacatta Viola marble table?

Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry afterwards. Avoid abrasive, chemical and acidic cleaning products, including vinegar and citrus-based cleaners.

Are variations in the marble considered faults?

No. Differences in veining, colour and natural markings are inherent characteristics of genuine marble. They are part of the appeal of Calacatta Viola and ensure every Melrose table is individual.
